Kick-Off at Uni Rostock

On 15th February, 2024, the new DFG-funded Research Unit 5538 "Multistep Catalytic Production Systems for Fine Chemistry by Integrated Molecular, Material and Process Design (IMPD4Cat)" was officially launched at the kick-off meeting in Rostock.
The fundamental research idea involves the simultaneous consideration of all process-relevant variables in (bio)chemical process development: i.e. the molecular variables of the involved substances as well as all process-related variables. This will be investigated in detail for the preparation of pharmaceutically relevant chiral amines and amino acids from readily available basic chemicals. Experts from all related relevant fields are involved in the DFG research unit.
